Key upgrades include a new steel and glazed lift core, fire escape shafts, a courtyard with landscaping and water features, and a secure access tunnel linking to the western parking area. Enhancements also cover new guard houses, ablution facilities, electrical and refuse rooms, and the refurbishment of facades, roofs and the Transnet Heritage Library, which will house a new museum. Additional works include installation of access control systems, irrigation, glass brick paving, and steel structures for mechanical equipment.
